EY’s UK & Ireland (UK&I) Consulting practice is looking to expand its presence in the North, advising clients across a broad spectrum of private & public sector organisations, many of which are household names and/or market leaders in their industry or sector. Our Graduate Analyst Program is recruiting enthusiastic, motivated graduates with a desire to help shape tomorrow’s world of working in finance. Your home office will be either near St. James’ Park in Newcastle or in St Peter’s Square in Manchester.

 

The Opportunity

Finance Consulting sits within EY’s Business Consulting Service Line, working with clients to address critical issues impacting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is involved increasingly with the wider business, creating broader stakeholder value and helping Build a Better Working World.

Our Graduate Analyst Program (GAP) is a structured two to three-year program, developing both technical finance skills and practical core consulting skills through on-the-job learning, formal courses and studying the ACCA Diploma. You will work with your assigned counsellor to build a learning plan around your own interests as they develop, driving your career in a direction you choose, alongside the needs of the business. The Graduate Analyst Program will equip successful applicants with the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience for a career in Management Consulting.

Your Role and Key Responsibilities

Working as part of a client facing team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects in Finance Transformation. Our competency is split into three Solution Groups: Global Business Services, Value and Performance Management and Digital Finance, as well as having specific solution in areas of the Public Sector and Sustainability. Roles will typically involve Project Management or Data Analysis as a graduate. As you become more experienced and progress you will expand into supporting with more technical solution group-specific roles.

As an EY Project Analyst, you will:

  • Manage project plans, take minutes of meetings and actions, and follow up with stakeholders to complete tasks
  • Create presentations, documents and facilitate workshops to capture requirements
  • Analyse financial data for patterns, trends, and insights, communicating in a meaningful way that aids decision making
  • Develop core consulting skills through on-the-job experience on client projects and internal work, and structured training
  • Support the design and delivery of a variety of solutions in finance and broader projects through defined EY methodologies
  • Use digital technologies such as AI, data visualisation and data analytics to support client objectives
  • Collaborate with globally recognised clients, the wider EY firm and other third parties
  • Support the design and implementation of performance management processes
  • Support the implementation of next-gen cloud ERP solutions
  • Support benchmarking and comparison of business operating models to industry and business size best practice
  • Study toward the ACCA Diploma and have the option to build a business case to study towards the full ACCA qualification

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • A degree level education, or equivalent.
  • An interest in building a role in consulting and finance and studying ACCA to Diploma level (minimum)
  • A desire to work in Newcastle and/or Manchester (we work in Hybrid working environment, where the expectation is to work in the office or client site 2-3 days a week. You may need to also travel as required by the client or project assignment, you may be required to travel nationally, or internationally)
