What attracted you to the Demant Graduate Programme, and what made you decide this was the right place to start your career?
I’ve always been drawn to the structure, challenge, and growth opportunities that a graduate programme offers. When I came across Demant’s Global Operations Graduate Programme, it immediately stood out because of its international exposure and the chance to gain a holistic understanding of a truly global supply chain.
The idea of rotating across different business areas—like NPI, sourcing, planning, and distribution—was incredibly appealing, as it allows me to combine my engineering background with strategic and operational learning. On top of that, Demant’s mission of improving hearing health worldwide resonated strongly with me. Starting my career in a company that’s both purpose-driven and global felt like the perfect fit.
How would you describe Demant’s company culture, and what has stood out to you the most since joining?
Demant’s culture is open, collaborative, and filled with people who genuinely care about helping you grow. What has stood out the most is the trust and responsibility given from day one. Even as a new graduate, I’ve been encouraged to take ownership of projects and share my ideas, while always having experienced colleagues to guide me.
There’s a strong sense of community across borders—whether in Denmark, the US, or Poland. People are approachable and supportive, which makes it easier to learn and adapt quickly in new environments.
Can you share a specific project or experience that has challenged you or pushed you to grow during the programme?
One of the most challenging and rewarding experiences so far has been leading a capacity optimization project at our main distribution site in Szczecin, Poland. The goal was to evaluate and improve the layout, system settings, and workflows in the distribution center to ensure we can handle future growth efficiently.
The project required a deep technical understanding, collaboration with engineers, operators, and external suppliers, and a clear focus on creating a strong business case. What made it especially interesting was that I could apply knowledge and insights from my previous rotation in the US, where I worked on the ERP and WMS implementation project. By combining process knowledge from the WMS rollout with the operational realities on the shop floor in Poland, I was able to connect systems and processes in a way that drove tangible improvements. It was a great example of how experiences from one rotation directly strengthen your impact in the next.
What has your experience been like collaborating across departments or international teams within Demant?
Working across countries and departments has been one of the most rewarding aspects of the programme. In the US, I collaborated daily with global project managers and local supply chain teams to drive ERP-related improvements. In Poland, I work hand-in-hand with automation and NPI teams, as well as external suppliers.
These collaborations have shown me the importance of adapting to different communication styles and cultural contexts. Every team works a little differently, but the shared focus on quality and continuous improvement creates a strong sense of alignment.
Say yes — even when you’re not entirely sure what you’re saying yes to.
How has the graduate programme supported your development through mentorship, feedback, or learning opportunities?
What stands out the most to me is the incredible amount of learning opportunities within the programme. You are constantly encouraged to take ownership of projects and explore new areas, and if you’re willing to take on challenges, the trust and responsibility you’re given are remarkable.
At the same time, there’s a strong support system around you—colleagues and managers who are always ready to help, provide feedback, and share their experience. That balance between autonomy and support has been key to my development. It creates an environment where you can learn by doing, make real impact, and grow both professionally and personally.
What skills or mindsets do you think are most important for thriving as a graduate at Demant?
Curiosity, adaptability, and openness are key. As a graduate, you’re constantly stepping into new teams and unfamiliar challenges, so being willing to listen, observe, and learn quickly is essential.
You don’t have to know everything in advance—what matters most is your willingness to ask questions, seek feedback, and take initiative. A mix of analytical thinking, technical understanding, and the ability to connect with people across functions will help you succeed.
What advice would you give to students who are considering applying to the Demant Graduate Programme?
Say yes — even when you’re not entirely sure what you’re saying yes to. Each challenge brings new learning and perspective, and that’s what makes the journey so valuable.
I truly believe that the Operations Graduate Programme at Demant is unique compared to any other graduate programme. The international exposure, the breadth of projects across the entire supply chain, and the level of responsibility you’re given early on make it an experience that accelerates both personal and professional growth. If you’re eager to learn, collaborate globally, and make a difference, this is the perfect place to start.
