You could call it an Industrial Underwriter Graduate.
But we are actually looking for you who want to learn and will make an impact on those you work with – and on our customers.
Do you want to be part of an international environment, with colleagues from various backgrounds and educations, providing insurance solutions to some of the largest and most complex companies in the Nordics?
About The Role
As a graduate, you will be joining our one-year Underwriting Nordic Trainee Program that will run with young academics from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland. The program consists of theoretical and practical modules that will be part of your individual development plan to increase your business skills, insight, and understanding as a base to accelerate your career and possibilities within If. After your one year as a Graduate, you will be placed in a permanent position within Underwriting.
We offer interesting and challenging work in a successful company, in a Nordic setting, with own responsibility, supported by mentors from different parts of the organization along the way – ensuring that you develop the needed skills and understanding. Our ambition is to prepare you for a great career within If.
About The Team
You will be part of a Nordic trainee group consisting of 4-6 trainees and jointly partake in training and coaching sessions as well as social gatherings during the year. Senior Underwriters at If will also join several sessions and you will therefore have a great opportunity to network. You will also be part of a team in the organization where you will learn and participate in the operational daily work as an underwriter in If.
But what is underwriting? As an underwriter, you evaluate the risks and set a price and insurance cover depending on the profile of the client. This involved quantifying the potential risk that you see and set a premium/price to cover those risks. At If we write covers for Property, Casualty, Cargo, Personal Insurance and Digital/Cyber risks. Serving the largest and most complex clients, each insurance cover is tailored for the specific needs and risks of the client.
Who are you?
You have a strong inner drive and a genuine curiosity. A high sense of responsibility defines you and you can be trusted to deliver. You are a self-motivated person with a proactive attitude and enjoy working both independently and together in teams.
You also have:
- a civil engineer degree or a law degree or an MSc. in Business Administration and will graduate this summer/ have recently graduated, or you have a few years of experience
