We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our UK HR team based in London. Reporting to the Head of HR UK, you will partner closely with Store Operations and key HR functions to deliver people strategies that support our store network and business growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded HR generalist who enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with hands-on operational support. You’ll build strong relationships with Store and Area Managers, providing expert guidance across the full employee lifecycle while driving engagement, performance and organisational effectiveness.

The role follows a hybrid working pattern of one day per week in our London office, two days working from home, and two days visiting stores across your region. You will also collaborate closely with colleagues across our wider European HR team.

What you will be responsible for

HR Business Partnering & Employee Relations

  • Provide expert advice on employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, absence management and investigations.
  • Coach and support store leaders to ensure fair, consistent and legally compliant people practices.
  • Partner with business leaders to drive employee engagement, retention and organisational effectiveness.
  • Support the delivery of strategic people initiatives across the employee lifecycle.

Organisational Development & Change

  • Lead and support initiatives resulting from employee engagement surveys.
  • Drive continuous improvement of HR processes, tools and ways of working.
  • Support organisational change and digital transformation projects.
  • Develop strategies to improve employee engagement, wellbeing and workplace culture.

Talent, Learning & Recruitment

  • Partner with Learning & Development to strengthen leadership capability and talent development.
  • Support succession planning and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on recruitment projects, including new store openings and the UMC graduate programme.
  • Coach managers on recruitment processes and hiring best practices.

HR Operations & Analytics

  • Use people data and insights to inform business decisions and drive improvements.
  • Support governance and compliance across HR processes, policies and employee data.
  • Contribute to compensation and benefits reviews and market benchmarking.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve HR processes and systems.

Skills, Experience and Attributes:

  • CIPD qualification or degree in HR, Business, Psychology, Behavioural Science or a related field.
  • Significant HR Business Partner or generalist HR experience within a fast-paced retail or customer-focused environment.
  • Strong employee relations knowledge and experience managing complex casework.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, coach and build credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience leading change initiatives and driving organisational improvement.
  • Commercial mindset with a clear understanding of how HR supports business performance.
  • A strong relationship builder who quickly gains trust and credibility.
  • Comfortable operating strategically while remaining hands-on and solution-focused.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about people, talent development and continuous improvement.
  • Adaptable and confident working within diverse and multicultural teams.
