At MT Højgaard we solve various types of tasks, but we are especially known for our large and complex buildings and infrastructure projects. We carry out both total, principal and subcontracting, develop our own projects and form part of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
MT Højgaard’s history
MT Højgaard’s history dates back 100 years. In 1918, Sven Schultz and Knud Højgaard founded the construction company Højgaard & Schultz. The following year Axel Monberg and Ejnar Thorsen founded the construction company Monberg & Thorsen. On May 2, 2001 – 82 years later – MT Højgaard A / S was formed following a merger of the two listed companies Monberg & Thorsen A / S and Højgaard & Schultz A / S.
Throughout the twentieth century, in MT Højgaard we have left our mark on the history of Denmark. Among other things, we have created the Øresund and Little Belt Bridge, the Great Belt Tunnel, the Moesgaard Museum, the Diamond and a number of other well-known construction and construction projects in Denmark, the Nordic region and the rest of the world.
