Valentina from Mondi Group: As a IGP graduate I am getting to know new cultures, bonding with other ambitious graduates, and having lots of fun

Intro to Valentina

My name is Valentina, and I come from Tuscany in Italy. I started to work in Mondi in May 2022 as a Student Assistant in the Functional Paper and Films Business Segment. Indeed, at the time, I was working part-time while studying for my master’s degree at IMC FH Krems (AT). I completed my studies in September 2023, achieving a specialization in International Business and Economic Diplomacy. My bachelor was finalized at the University of Siena (IT) with a degree in Economics and Business Administration and with the Erasmus at the Universität Bonn (Germany).

With the completion of my studies, I was given the chance to join the International Graduate Program in Finance with other fresh graduates from different segments. I am currently doing the first rotation in the FPF Controlling Team in Vienna and then I will spend the next rotation at Mondi Coating Zeltweg (AT).

How did you end up at Mondi?

I came across Mondi through the Jobs LinkedIn page. I was at the end of my internship in another company, and I was looking for an international firm where I could grow and stay longer as well as remain in Vienna. The Student Assistant position in Mondi was the perfect match for me.

What attracted you to Mondi as an employer?

What I like most about Mondi is the dynamism and the opportunity to grow professionally and personally according to individual abilities and needs. I also like how every day I could see what I studied applied to daily business.

What has been the highlight of being a graduate at Mondi so far?

The IGP program is giving me the chance not just to learn more about Finance but also to acquire additional skills, insights, and valuable knowledge for my future. I am getting to know new cultures, bonding with other talented and ambitious graduates, and having lots of fun

The best advice I ever got was not to break your head too much, and let’s see how things develop.

What has surprised you the most about working at Mondi?

When joining Mondi, I would have never thought that there could have been so much diversity and D&I events. I appreciate the efforts made to encourage women to develop in leadership positions, and I am glad that Mondi is striving to guarantee more equity between women and men, and not just in the HQ but also in the production sites. I also really enjoy seeing all the activities done to empower young talents.
