As a department we pride ourselves on challenging and developing our trainees with a scheme which will provide exposure to our Formula 1 programs via ownership of a diverse portfolio of products.

Key Deliverables:

  • Quality Engineering leadership of a diverse portfolio of parts/suppliers via daily support to our Engineering, Purchasing, Production (Internal Manufacturing or via our approved External Supply Chain) and Inspection departments to resolve technical and non-conformance problems to enable on time delivery of parts to our specification.
  • Supply statistical data to the supply chain to highlight improvement opportunities leading to non-conformance reduction.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities to reduce cost, reduce lead-time and improve yield.
  • Support the new part design review processes to ensure current part quality performance, manufacturing challenges/capability and previous component failure history is reviewed. You will enable a new part specification which is capable and reliable, while meeting cost and delivery targets.
  • Expand the supply chain through on-site visits and audits, leading to Mercedes AMG HPP approval in readiness for new part introduction.
  • Lead root cause analysis using industry recognised analytical methods, to solve problems. Containment through to implementation of robust countermeasures so our F1 programmes stay on target and our Power Units remain protected from potential failure.

What do we need from you?

  • A curious, tenacious, and driven individual with a hunger to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enrolled on a relevant Mechanical / Automotive / Mechatronics / Motorsport / Aeronautical Engineering or related degree on course for a 2:1 degree or higher.
  • A strong academic background in relevant A-Levels (Maths / Sciences) or equivalent disciplines.
  • An excellent understanding of engineering first principles.
  • Practical “hands-on” experience to complement your academic studies.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivation, adaptability and creativity.
  • Courage to challenge and desire to be challenged, to expand your technical knowledge and skills.
