Under this strategy, Asda is committed to reducing packaging where possible, and improving the sustainability credentials and circularity of what remains. To deliver this ambition, we are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join the team and deliver positive change.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and iterating Asda’s sustainable packaging strategy. Defining the roadmap for delivery of the strategy and associated KPIs.
- Delivering sustainable packaging solutions across Asda’s product portfolio in collaboration with colleagues across cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and suppliers to improve Asda’s packaging data.
- Delivering compliance on packaging regulations and policies, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Single Use Plastic restrictions.
- Staying up to date with emerging technologies and innovation in packaging, making recommendations for application within Asda.
- Communication of Asda’s progress on packaging to key stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers and NGOs.
- Participation with relevant industry working groups with peers to drive industry-wide progress on sustainability initiatives.

- IOP Diploma in Packaging Technology and/or a minimum of 3 years packaging development experience within an FMCG business.
- Passion for sustainability and for driving positive change on packaging.
- Experience of working in packaging development, sustainability or a related field.
- Technical knowledge of packaging materials and technology.
- Strong collaboration, communication and stakeholder management skills.
