The A Side: A Day in The Life

Come and work for Universal Music, the world’s largest and most innovative music company! We are looking for a 12-month paternity cover based within the Transportation team. This team is tasked with the logistics, shipping and delivery of physical music and merchandise from our distribution and supplier base to our global network of customers.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced supply chain environment in a creative industry working on key releases for many global artists. As physical media continues to play a huge part in ensuring chart success this is a key role which delivers visible results and tangible job satisfaction. The successful candidate will learn, develop and enhance their supply chain skills whilst being part of a truly global supply chain.

The working pattern for this position will be a hybrid approach of three to four days in the office for the first few months of the role, with a reduced requirement to be in the office as time goes on.

Be Organized

  • Coordinate shipping and logistics both within Europe and across global markets utilising road, air and sea freight.

Be Analytical

  • Analyze shipping data and financial reporting with an eye for optimization.
  • Analyse ESG sustainability and enhance reporting.
  • Freight, audit and pay review of invoices and preparing financial reporting documents.

Be Collaborative

  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers, distributors and customers.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with accurate and timely deliveries.
  • Communicate with wider variety of stakeholders at all business levels, both internally and externally.

Be Innovative

  • Key focus on driving sustainability and developing solutions to reduce our carbon footprint.

Person Specification

  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of organization and problem-solving mindset
  • Rigorous attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven track record in a relevant supply chain facing role, preferably a Supply chain graduate scheme
  • Proficient in Microsoft office with key focus on Microsoft excel including data modelling
