METHODOLOGY
The 2023/2024 Graduateships Consulting rankings are based on five core sources of data; Student input provided via surveys, more than 20 interviews with current and former consultants, Review of three global and local rankings, desktop research of more than 100 Danish consulting firms and a review of over 100 annual reports.
The Graduateships Consulting 50 is based on a combination of internal and external scores. To make the ranking as objective as possible, we created the Graduateships Index consisting of five metrics. We selected the five metrics by asking more than 3000 students and young professionals what they find most important when evaluating where to work. They emphasized that not all metrics were equally important. To account for this, we have created a weighted system and scored all companies within each metric* :
*If we have not been able to find the relevant metric for a company we have tried to find a proxy or left this metric out entirely
Graduateships is once again proud to provide the biggest and most elaborative overview of the Danish consulting industry. Today we serve more than 25.000 students and graduates looking for insights into their first job.
As former graduates ourselves we were frustrated with the lack of overview and insight into the consulting industry. This is why we created the Consulting Top 50 list – to create more transparency to benefit both graduates and employers.
Bain is still the most popular consulting firm for Danish students and graduates
Bain & Company, McKinsey & Company, BCG, Implement Consulting Group and Novo Nordisk Consulting top the list in Denmark. It is positive to see that Danish founded consulting firms are increasingly able to attract the best students and graduates such as Implement Consulting Group, Novo Nordisk Consulting and Maersk Management Consulting.
The leading consulting firms pay north of 50.000 DKK per month
Salary transparency has been a key ask from students for the past many years. We are happy to say that we have taken a step in the right direction and have managed to secure salary ranges from most of the consulting companies that are part of the ranking*. Thanks for making this a possibility.

*We asked firms for their salary ranges. If we did not hear from the firms we found the salary ranges based on public available sources.
MBB provides the best career development for new graduates
It’s no surprise that it is yet gain the MBB gang (Bain, McKinsey and BCG) that tops the list. Bain has with the inclusion of QVARTZ created a powerhouse of a consulting firm which combines an innovative Nordic approach together with the consulting roots of Bain. Regardless of which of the top 3 you end up applying for you will be in for a treat. They are simply the best consulting companies in Denmark if you are looking for a steep learning curve.
In-house consulting firm continue to be an attractive option for graduates
It is positive to see the two Danish in-house consulting firms Novo Nordisk Consulting (#5) and Maersk Management Consulting (#7) high on the list as well. They both have very strong brands amongst students and their unique nature of being in-house firms combined with a better work life balance has made them attractive for many top students. They both provide unparallel opportunity to travel and work on large scale and high impact global projects.
